Day Two: Race One and Two

Social Media Race Report (by Aeziah)

“It was an amazing experience being a part of and competing in the first weekend of the MIR Racing Finetwork Cup at Kotar Circuit.

t was a great opportunity to go up against so many of the best riders my age from over 10 countries in the Moto5 class. The countries represented in my class this weekend were Spain, Netherlands, Australia, Bermuda, France, Colombia, Poland, England, Portugal and Germany. There are even countries more across the other categories!

I felt really confident in morning warm up in our first combined session of the weekend where I finished 17th. I was very happy with this and it gave me some confidence and helped me to not feel so nervous going into the races.

Race one was the largest class I’ve ever raced in with 26 riders! I started P23 and had a good start, moved up multiple positions and had some really good battles throughout the race. I was leading the back group with about 3 laps to go but while coming down the back hill, I hit 1st by mistake instead of 2nd which caused my rear to slide around and catch itself, throwing me over the bars. Luckily I saved it but it allowed the bikes behind me to get past. I had to work hard to catch them again which took about a lap before I passed each of them back to eventually finish P20 that I was happy with.

Race two went from P23 again. I fought with more riders back and forth, making some really good progress forward. On the last few laps, another rider and I were fighting for position until he hit my inside as we went into one of the chicanes which sat me up and I lost momentum for the uphill section. I eventually finished P16 and was very happy with myself because this class is so fast and all the riders are incredible 👏👏”
