Aeziah had an exciting first round in the R&G British Talent Cup at Circuito de Navarra. It was a great learning experience for him to get to grips with the bike, team, paddock and circuit.
The testing days were quite difficult breaking in his new suit.
Saturday’s qualifying was cut short after his engine lost power after a few laps but the team swiftly resolved this situation in time for Race 1 where he qualified to start the race in P26.
It was a frenetic first race with a lot of riders crashing but he had several good battles with Raheesh Khatri and finished in P20.
Race 2 was better. He had a great start, went faster and stayed with the pack in front of him. He changed positions throughout the race and closed the gap to the group ahead. He finished in P25.
In race 3, Aeziah had some good battles with Samuel Muson, Bill Harris and Iwan Jones. On the last few laps, he set his fastest lap of the round and overtook a rider in a run to line by 0.040 seconds to finish in P21.
The British Talent Cup travels to Donnington Park for Round 2 between 17/05/2024 and 19/05/2024, where Aeziah intends to keep learning and progressing within the class.
