Aeziah was excited to compete in the R&G British Talent Cup support class in the Monster Energy British Grand Prix at Silverstone at the weekend! Especially for the 75th anniversary of MotoGP™. It was a surreal experience racing at such an iconic circuit and a great opportunity to meet MotoGP racers and professionals.
FP1
Building on from Thruxton, Aeziah felt more comfortable on the bike and as as the session went on got into a good rhythm, finishing the session with a time of 2:33.322.
FP2
Aeziah was able to get a few helpful tows allowing him to learn the track by sticking with some of the more experienced riders, ending FP2 with a 2:29.000.
Qualifying
He continued to head in the right direction in qualifying and his times dropped by several seconds per session. Aeziah got in the mix with a few groups and qualified with a time of 2:26.651 and in P24.
Race 1
Aeziah stayed within reach of the group ahead for two laps before they broke away. For the rest of the race, he focused on chipping away at his times and crossed the line in P25.
Race 2
Determined to pull things together in the last race of the weekend, Aeziah latched onto the back group so he could fight. After making a pass, he pushed on to continue moving forward and started closing the gap, matching the pace of several riders in front of him. He finished in P20 and left the round feeling inspired and confident.
