Divine was able to demonstrate his growth from last year, returning to Brands Hatch GP circuit for the second time. In the first practice session (FP1), he went two seconds quicker than his personal best lap time at the circuit from last year and continued to build on his pace and track knowledge in FP2. “I found a good rhythm building and shaved off another second in FP2, primarily from pushing my braking markers.” Qualifying went better than expected, securing P18 on the grid for race one.
In Race 1, Divine had a slow start off the line, quickly losing positions and got swarmed into turn one. During the race, he pushed hard to keep in touch with the group ahead, dropping his times to edge closer to the group, but not enough to get back in the mix as the red flag came out drew the race to a premature end with three laps to go. He finished in P22.
Knowing he had the pace to battle in the group for points (top 15), Divine needed to be bolder and commit to holding his position going into turn one. He had a strong start in Race 2 from P23 on the grid and was in P17 by turn two. “I learned a lot in the group battling for P14. We had almost identical lap times for most of the race. It felt good to be fighting between P14 – P17.” With five laps to go, the rain returned and once again the race was red-flagged for an early end to the session. Divine ended the race in P17 of 26 racers.
“I was happy to return to Brands Hatch for the second time with more experience and the support of my team at Fibre Tec MLav Racing. Over the weekend, I shaved 5 seconds off my fastest time from last year. I finished the weekend just 2 seconds behind the race leader. I learned a great deal and look forward to building on this foundation.
“Thanks to the team for a great setup and for helping me build my confidence. Hitting the mid-season mark and consistently moving toward the middle of the pack is a big boost.”
Round 5 is at Thruxton Circuit, known as the UK’s fastest race circuit, between August 8 – 10, 2025.
